Top 20 Ukrainian Artists

In 2012, I was inspired to share the vibrant spirit that I had encountered among Ukrainian artists after my travels to various regions of Ukraine in 2011. Upon my return to San Francisco, together with Art People Gallery, Silvana Gallery, Consulate General of Ukraine, and active members of Ukrainian community, we reached out to Ukrainian Artists from all over the world to participate in SNAC – Social Network Art Competition.
Of all artists who submited artwork over a span of 6 months, 150 semi-finalists were selected. Then, the gallery jury selected the Top 20 Artist Finalists. These Top 20 Artists have shipped their artwork to United States and will now be exhibited at
ART PEOPLE Gallery: 50 Post St., San Francisco, California 94104
The artwork ranges from paintings, drawings, photography and other 2-dimensional art will be available for sale.

One winning artist, Tatiana Cherevan, was able to receive a visa and will be arriving to the Opening Reception from Ukraine.

“Nature Divine”

I met an artist, Cameron Chernoff, several years ago, and he said that we got to paint not only what we see, but to capture the feeling of nature on canvas… It took me quite a few paintings and observation to understand what he meant…

“Nature has inspired Artists from all over the world for centuries. The magnificence and beauty of the world we live in makes us wonder about our creation and the meaning of it all. While many artists aim to capture the physical reality of the world they see, our goal in this show is to paint what is underneath the surface of reality. There is a spirit in nature which flows through all living things. We portray this essence that is inherent throughout our world. For when you strip away the outer physical reality all you are left with is the “Divine Nature.” – Cameron Chernoff
